Last Night’s Forecast General Situation.—An extensive anticyclone is moving on to New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Fresh southerlies over Auckland Peninsula and fresh westerlies in Southland, otherwise light to moderate and variable. Seas: New Zealand waters, rather rough north of Kawhia and south of Nugget Point, but decreasing and elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to fresh south-westerly winds turning later to north-westerly in the south, sea rather rough but decreasing. Weather: Fair to fine generally except for some morning cloud and a few isolated showers in the north and east of the North Island. Temperatures: Rather warmer. To-day’s North Island Report Blue sky was general throughout the North Island this morning with the exception of Gisborne, Where it was ivercast. There was Overnight rain at Napier. Winds were slight and visibility good. The barometer had risen. Temperatures at 9 a.m. were: Auckland, 66 degrees; Tauranga. 65; Easl Cape, 63; Opotiki, 61; Gisborne and Wellington, 60; Napier. 59. Seas were moderate to smooth. Midday Forecast General Situation. —An extensive anticyclone covers New Zealand and the Tasman Sea. FoVecast.—Light to moderate variable winds. Weather, fine and mild.
