LESS UNEMPLOYMENT

LOWEST FOR 10 YEARS • i. • : POSITION IN N.S.W. (Reccl Feb. 25, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 25. The Premier of New South Wales, Mr. A. Mair, announced that employment in New South Wales at the end of 1940 reached the record of 907,311, which was 31,843 better than in December, 1939. In January the number of unemployed was 28,583, the lowest for 10 years.

The number unemployed was now only 3 per cent of the total employed in the State.
