KILLED INSTANTLY
MAN STRUCK BY TREE (l’er Press Association.) GORE, this day. Struck by a tree during felling operations at Mataura this morning, Mr. George Anderson, aged 64, single, of McQuarrie street, Invercargill, was crushed and killed instantly. A workmate, Mr. George Murphy, of Mataura, received a fracture of the left leg and was admitted to the Gore Hospital. Mr. Anderson was caught unawares when the tree slewed round, arid his chest was crushed against another trunk.
