THAI RESISTANCE
INTENTION DECLARED MILITARY DEMANDS DEFYING ANY QUARTER (Reed. Feb. 22, 10.30 a.m.) BANGKOK, Feb. 21. The Thailand Foreign Office denied in Bangkok that the Japanese were demanding military facilities of any kind from Thailand. The authorities said that Thailand would resist demands of a military nature “from any quarter." It is reported in Bangkok that 15 Japanese naval units will be stationed in the vicinity of the French naval base at' Koh Kong during the Tokio conference. These warships represent half of the Japanese battle fleet. The ships of the other half are at present cruising off Saigon. A Saigon message states that the Governor of French Indo-China, Admiral Decoux, presided over a conference of military and naval commanders, who discussed Indo-China’s military and political situation.
