EIRE SHIPS SUNK

OVER 14,000 TONNAGE LOSS OF TWENTY LIVES ATTACKS BY GERMANS (Reed. Feb. 21, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 21.

The Eire Prime Minister, Mr. E. de Valera, speaking in the Dail, said that since the outbreak of war eight Irish vessels had been attacked and four sunk. Five others were lost, three being victims of mines. The total tonnage sunk was 14,205. Twenty lives had been lost.

Two ships were lost within 20 to 80 miles of the Irish Coast. Seven attacks from the air were made on Irish vessels. With one exception all of the attacking planes had been identified as German.
