ARMED POLISH BANDS GENERAL A VICTIM OVER 40 POLICE KILLED FIGHTING IN FOREST (Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Reed. Feb'. 20, 2.40 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 19. The Polish news agency says that a German, General Roettiv, was killed during a clash between Polish armed bands and German police.
German papers published in Poland reveal that the resistance by the Poles to the Nazis is growing. The Deutsche Rundscdau reports serious fighting in the Tuchola Forest near Bromberg, where armed bands of Poles are organising.
The Krakauer Zeitung reports another battle elsewhere when Germans tried to round up a band, a German policeman being killed and two wounded. The paper reveals that 44 German police have been killed in central Poland in recent months.
