MR. WENDELL WILLKIE NO WORD IN ENGLAND U.S. ENTRY INTO WAR (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Teb. 9. The American Republican leader, Mr. Wendell Willkie, is reported to have arrived back in the United States to-day and to have said on landing that he heard nobody in England express the belief or anticipation that the United States would or should become an “active participant in the war.”

Mr. Willkie is expected to appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee oh Thursday.
