BOMBERS AT ’DROMES AIRPORTS TAKEN OVER 1 BRITISH TROOPS MASSED BORDER OF THAILAND

(Reed. Feb. 11, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10

Japan appears to have established a military foothold in Saigon, the capital of Indo-China by unheralded infiltrations, says the Saigon correspondent of the Associated Press cf America, according to a dispatch from New York.

Japanese soldiers are guarding four newly-arrived bombers \yhich were serviced at the Saigon airport by Japanese mechanics. Japanese officer,; have established their headquarters at Air France’s aerodrome offices.

For the first time Japanese soldiers were seen in Saigon’s streets. They apparently arrived by air or by the cruiser Abukuma on Monday.

According to a report from Tokio, the Nichi Nichi Shimbun publishes reports from Bangkok that British troops from Singapore are massing along the west coast of the Malay Peninsula and the Singapore-Thailand border “evidently preparing to march to the border.”

The newspaper adds that British troops from Burma have heen concentrated in the Margui Islands since November.
