CARD EVENING
(Herald Correspondent.)
At the home of Mrs. F. Faulknei. Muriwai, a most successful card evening was held 'last evening. This was the first of the evenings this year being conducted by the Muriwai Patriotic Committee to raise funds for patriotic purposes. A happy evening was spent at progressive five-hundred and at the conclusion an enjoyable buffet supper was served. Those present included Mesdames F. Faulkner. J. F. Mills. E. Bunny, and G. Foster; Misses Margaret Hughes, Monica Murphy. Joyce Whonga, Virginia Williams, Hazel McMillan. Nata Tp Hau. and Pat Williams.
Miss M. M. Hughes, who has been spending the school vacation with her mother in Napier, has returned to Muriwai. —Mrs. A. Robinson, Gisborne, has taken up her duties as assistant at the Muriwia School*.-—Mr. and Mrs. C. Fiooper, formerly of Rere, have taken up their residence in Muriwia. — Masters E. Williams and T. Mills, who have been spending the summer vacation with their parents in Muriwia, are returning to Hereworth SchoolMiss Virginia Williams is returning to Woodford House after spending the Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Williams.
