COUNCIL PICNIC

DAY AT WAIHIRERE CHAMPIONSHIP TO TURLEY Oa Saturday the annual picnic of the staff of the Gisborne Borough Council -was held on the Waihirere Domain. Ideal weather conditions prevailed and an enjoyable day was spent by a large crowd. The Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.Pm. and two of the councillors, Messrs. J. H. Hall and R. Morse, spent the day at the picnic. The staff championship for the E. R. Thomas Cup was won by T. G. Turley. Many athletic and novelty events were run off and the committee which organised the picnic was congratulated for its fine work.
