MARSEILLES RAID

VERSION FROM VICHY IDENTITY OF PLANES (Reed. Nov. 26, 9 a.m.) VICHY, Nov. 24. It is officially stated in Vichy that an air raid alarm sounded in Marseilles, after which several British planes flew over the town and the neighbourhood and dropped bombs, including 20 incendiary bombs. It is stated that four women were killed and five injured. “An examination of unexploded bombs and anti-Italian pamphlets leaves no doubt as to the nationality of the planes,” continues the statement. “The French Government is energetically protesting against the Royal Air Force’s unqualified and unexpected action.”
