Last Night’s Forecast General Situation.—An anti-cyclone lies centrally over the Dominion, while a weak depression covers the central and western Tasman Sea. Forecast. —Winds: Light to moderate and variable, with northerlies gradually irredominating. Sbas: In Ncvv Zealand waters, slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate northerly winds and moderate seas.Weather: Fair to fine and milder over most of the country; cloud gradually increasing, however, in the western districts from Nelson northwards, with scattered drizzle probably developing in Taranaki and North Auckland after about 24 hours. To-day's North Island Report Cloudy conditions in the eastern districts but blue skies to the north and south were reported to-day, when light lo gentle breezes, mainly from an easterly quarter, prevailed. The barometer was considerably higher .han yesterday. Temperatures at 9 a.m. were: Auckland, (52 degrees; Tauanga, 70; Oooliki, 61; East Cape, 56; Gisborne. 63; Napier, 58; Wellington, 04. Midday Forecast General Situation; An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand and the south Tasman Sea, while a weak disturbance is located in the north Tasman Sea.
