One person was killed and six injured in Cairo’s first air raid on Sunday night, when bombs were dropped on a farm on the outskirts of the city by an Italian plane. A Royal Air . Force communique issued in Cairo to-day states that Tobruk was-successfully raided on Sunday, bombs falling on the;-,,.Waterfront between barracks and naval fuel tanks. One explosion, was so violent that it lit up the cabin of one of the raiding aircraft. Gura was successfully attacked. Two large buildings were directly hit and other bombs caused large fires. Three grounded enemy aircraft at the Asmara aerodrome were bombed. Agordat was also raided, but the damage could not be observed. Bombs were also dropped close to the main hangars at Diredawa. All of the British planes returned. Damage to Hangars An Aden message states that the Royal Air Force vigorously attacked ihe aerodrome and military encampment at Diredawa, doing considerable damage to hangdrs, and trie barracks and railway. , A communique issued in Nairobi states that one of the British ground patrols encountered an enemy post at Walgaris, on the frontier of Kenya and Somaliland. The British casualties were very Enemy planes dropped many bombs at Habaswein and Garissa. No material damage was done, but four persons were injured. A British patrol successfully stacked the Cnemy at Dukan. The enemy withdrew leaving five killed as well as equipment and camels. A naval communique issued at Alexandria states that several enemy aircraft bombed the vicinity of Alexandria in the early hours of yesterday. There were no casualties and no damage was caused.
