SWANS INCREASING

The belief that the number of swans in the Rotorua district was increasing was expressed by Mr. A. Kean, conservator of fish and game, last weekend. Although the white swan was protected, it had appeared to be dying out until recent years, but a number had been noted nesting throughout the district, and particularly at Waikaremonna.
