Geddis at a meeting of the Napier Chamber of Commerce during a discussion on the price of petrol in Napier. The chairman. Mr. A. W. H. King, mentioned that, in July last, the question had been stated as due for review but no action had been taken. He continued with the statement that the tankers “can at least discharge on Sundays without paying overtime rates.” It was decided to renew the chamber's representations to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, to have the price of petrol at Napier reduced to bring it into line with other tanker ports
