LOYAL GISBORNE LODGE ANNIVERSARY NIGHT THE OLDEST MEMBERS Manchester Unit}- Oddfellows, Loyal Gisborne Lodge, GOB 7, celebrated the sixty-sixth anniversary of its foundation at last night's meeting, when Sister O. F. Bannister. 1.P.N.G.. presided. In a brief review of old surviving members of the lodge, the secretary. Mr. C. 11. Am bridge. P.D.G.M.. said that there was only one of the origina l members alive to-dav. he being Mr. J Moggridge, P.D.G.M.. 'now living ir Marion. Mr. Moggridge was still very active, and only n few weeks age visited Gisborne. Mr. G. A. Bourn. P.G., now in Perth. Western Australia, was probably the next oldest member. Mr. Bourn was an officer of the’ Gisborne lodge (12 years ago, and was treasurer for some years following that, leaving Gisborne 50 years ago Mr. Ambridge added that he and the present treasurer. Mr. J. H. Clayton. P.G., were among the oldest of the other members. Mr. H. T. Sinclen, P.G.. lecture master, referred to the knowledge and guidance provided bv the older members, while Mr. G. A. Holmes, P.G., provided some anecdotes regard - ing Mr. Bourn, who was a keen sportsman. Mr. R. W. Wallen reported attending a welcome given by the American order of the 1.0.0. F. to their New Zealand grand master. Members who were selected to represent the ledge at the next friendly society indoor bowls tournament on Monday night were announced as follows: Messrs. T. J. Dunstan. E. W. Wallen. C. D. McKay. W. M. Michie. J. Clerk, P. O. Niven, F. Nyberg, V. C. Rothwell. R. W. Cook. P. Schwabe, F. L. Barker and K. Ellmers. Following the lodge meeting, which was a brief one, members adjourned for a flag live hundred tournament, in which the competition was very even, the tables finishing with a difference of only live flags between the winners and those who were lowest. Those who received the winning prizes were Sisters A. J. Elliott and A. Korle, Messrs. If. T. Sinden and A. Torric.
