ANNUAL REUNION KEEN INTEREST TAKEN (Herald Correspondent.) The reunion of the Nuhaka subbranch of the Gisborne Returned Soldiers’ Association, held in Waikokopu last Friday evening, was well attended, those present including members of the Maori Pioneer Battalioh. The president, Mr. W. Mitchell, occupied the chair. Visitors from other districts included Mr. A. H. Miller, secretary of the Gisborne R.S.A., Mr. J. J. Miller, secretary of the Wairoa R.S.A., Mr. C. V. Chamberlain, patron of the Wairoa R.S.A., and Mr. English, of the Wairoa R.S.A. Toasts honoured were:—“The King,” proposed by the president; “Kindred Associations,” proposed by Mr. G. D, Tod and replied to by Messrs. A. H. Miller and J. J. Miller; “Our Guests,” proposed by Mr. Mitchell, and replied to by Messrs. C V. Chamberlain and A. Miller; “Absent Comrades,” proposed by Mr. F. H. Young; “Army, Navy and Air Force,” proposed by Mr. O’Hara and replied to by Mr. C. V. Chambeidain; “Army Nursing Sisters,” proposed by Mr. F. H. Young and replied to by Mr. W. Mitchell; "Sons of Old Diggers Serving in the Army, Navy and Air Force,” proposed by tlie president and Messrs. A. Ramlose, Wi Boyle, W. Scott, T. Hapi, and JT. Swannel, and. replied to by Mr. T. Hapi. The visitors congratulated the association on its good muster and splendid financial membership. The formation of Home Guard units in Wairoa and Kopuawhara was dis-' cussed, and it was gratifying to see the keen interest taken by the returned soldiers. Songs, musical items, and short stories were given, and refreshments were served by Messrs. R. Bluck, J. Todd, V. Bluck, and E. Swainson.
