CURRENT ATTRACTIONS ENERGETIC WORKERS TO-MORROWS FEATURES Committees working in support of the different queen candidates in the patriotic queen carnival for tlie rehabilitation fund, have shown an unusual degree of .enterprise up to date, and their plans for the immediate future indicate an even wider scope for the working members of the committees. For this evening, a picture benefit at the King’s Theatre for the Maori candidate, Miss Arapera Halbert, and a concert in the Makaraka Hall, for the sports candidate, Miss Margaret Witters, are the main features for townspeople. To-morrow the shopping crowds will be catered for by several activities, including the R.S.A. shop in Gladstone road, a mock court and wheelbarrow derby for the sports .queen, and a drawing competition in the business area on behalf of the Maori queen. The latter candidate also will benefit from a dance in the Selvyn Hall in the evening. Supporters of the Coast candidate, Miss Margaret Williams, will muster at the Te Puia Memorial Hall to-mor-row evening to witness a mock court and concert items by Maori parties. -The charge-sheet for the mock courl lias been carefully prepared, and will include charges against Maori veterans based on their activities in the last war. A dance will follow the court and the concert programme.
