OVER £IOI,OOO GIVEN
PLANES FOB PBJTAJN DOMINION FUNDS (Por Press Assoeiatipn.) TjVEL{ij[NGTpN, this day. The Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, announced yesterday that £101,729 14s 6d has been received in the public account on behalf of the aeroplanes fund. Arrangements are being made to remit to the United Kingdom Government the balance of the N.Z. £IOO,OOO which was promised. The allocation of planes to provincial patriotic districts for the purpose of naming the planes after such districts whePe funds have beer raised, will be undertaken as soon as the money from outstanding lists is received fn the public account. The surplus over £IOO,OOO will be paid to the United Kingdom Government on account of the Dominion’s share of the cost of the Empire air training scheme. Amounts received during the week are: Onga Onga district, per Mr. A. J. Gifts for the purchase of aircraft acknowledged to-day include £IOO from Mrs. Ravenscroft, from Buenos Aires, as well as £6OOO from Lewes, Sussex. Bradford, which aimed at raising £1,250,000 during the war weapons week, which began on Saturday, has, after two days, already received in cash and promises £1,509,370.
