Spare Petrol Coupon

A proposal advanced in connection with the queen carnival for patriotic purposes is designed to overcome the difficulty which candidates' committees experience in transport and organisation. It is that motorists who have spare petrol coupons should place them at the disposal of the committees, and thus facilitate the use of motor vehicles on behalf of the respective queen candidates. In Auckland a large number of coupons were contributed by motorists for this purpose, during a campaign which raised £400,000 for rehabilitation in the Auckltmd district.
