WAIPAWA CANDIDATE
MR. C. G. E. HARKER NATIONAL NOMINEE • (Per Press ARsoc.intion.) HASTINGS, this day. The Waipawa electorate selection committee of the New Zealand National Party last night decided to nominate Mr. C. G. E. Harker as the party candidate to contest the Waipawa seat made vacant by the death of Mr. A. E. Jull. Six nominees were considered, each addressing the delegates for 10 minutes. Intense interest was taken in the selection, the theatre being packed with party members from all parts of Hawke’s Bav. Mr. Harker is a well known solicitor and a former Mayor of Waipawa.
