BLOOD BANK IN N.S.W.
PLAN TO MOBILISE SERVICE SYDNEY, Oct. L Provision for storing blood for transfusion purposes will be part of the emergency plans of the new Stateorganised blood transfusion service for which volunteer blood donors will be called within a few weeks. The plan for Sydney provides for a centralised system of administration for ordinary purposes, donors being called upon as required for transfusions. In an emergency, such as an invasion, the organisation would be decentralised, each large hospital having a blood transfusion oflicer, who would work in collaboration with a “donor leader," who, in turn, would be in touch with district leaders.
