WIDE POWERS

NETHERLANDS INDIES PRESERVING INTEGRITY AID FOR ALLIES (Reed. June 17, 10.30 a.m.) BATAVIA, June 15. Parliament has conferred wide powers on the Governor-General, .Tbnkheer Dr. A. W. L. Stachouwer, for the preservation of the integrity of the Netherlands East Indies. Dr. Stachouwer said that they were doing their utmost to aid the Allies without infringing the interests _of America and Japan. Holland’s capitulation resulted in the reduction of Duteli East Indies exports by 25 per cent, which was expected to be counterbalanced by increased demands from the Allies, America and Japan.
