OPOTIKI TRAGEDY BOY PINNED BY LOAD CAR-TRUCK COLLISION (Special to (lie Hornlil.) OPOTIKI, this day. When the motor-lorry which his father was driving became involved in a collision in Opotiki yesterday, Charles Joseph Donaldson, aged seven, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Donaldson, received injuries which caused his death instantly. The boy was travelling in the cab of the truck, with his father and a brother, when the accident occurred. The truck was loaded with firewood, and when, as a result of a collision with a car, it overturned in the roadway in front of the Donaldson’s home, Charles was pinned down. His brother, Thomas Arthur Donaldson, aged nine, received severe head lacerations, and was admitted to the Opotiki Hospital. The car involved in the collision was driven by Mr. J. R. Washbourne, a Hamilton agent.
