Last Night’s Forecast General Situation: An intense anticyclone still covers New Zealand and a depression is located to the south of Tasmania. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable with southerlies predominating over the Auckland province lortherly to westerly directions over .he South Island. Seas: In New Zealand waters slight but gradually rising south of Westport. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds and slight seas in the northern and central portions, - gradually freshening north-westerly winds and moderate but rising seas in the southern portion. Weather: For the most oart fair to fine, some scattered light showers still likely in the Poverty Bay area however, conditions gradually becoming unsettled in the extreme south-west and south. Temperatures: Moderate in the north, cool in the south, with frosts again to-night. To-day’s Nox-th Island Repoi't Blue skies were fairly .general this morning throughout the North Island and conditions were calm. Temperatures at S) n.m. were: ---ast . Cape, 52 degrees; Gisborne, 51; Wellington. 18; Auckland, 46: Opotiki, 45; Napier. 13 Seas were slight to smooth, but /ere reported to be moderate south xf Napier. Midday Forecast General Situation: An intense anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, but pressure is now failing in the south. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds. Weather: Fair to fine and cool. Seas: Slight.
