Norman von Nida is without doubt the leading playing golf professional in Australia, says a Melbourne writer. In the recent Queensland open championship meeting he swept all before him,* winning the open title fairly easily, and also winning two of the three professional purse events in which he competed. Von Nida has now won four of the six Queensland open championships that he has contested. Apart from the purse events von Nida won £B4 in prize-money. His rounds of 72, 75, 68 and 74 gave him a total of 289, six strokes better than O. Pickworth, the Sydney professional. who has lately come into the limelight.
