MATCHES IN GISBORNE MANY ROUNDS PLAYED WEEK-END RESULTS Many rounds in competitions were played during the week-end by members of golf clubs in Gisborne. Despite the dut'l weather, conditions were good on Saturday afternoon and splendid progress was made by the players. In a bogey match played in conjunction L. Lunken and D. A. Wells were nil square, but Lunken took the decision on the count back. R. Porter, 2 down, and A. D. Tarr, 3 down, were the best of the others; The Chrisp Cup final resulted in a win for F. Connote over K. Everett, a and 4. Connote played steady golf Everett missed several short putts which cost him holes. In the Dryland Cup series J. McMillan and L. Williams d. R. Porter and G. Ardern, 2 up. Williams was the deciding factor for the winners. ' The Lunken Cup challenge was even throughout, J. Slipper and Miss L. Hnismnn defeating L. Williams and Mrs. Woodrow, 2 and 1.
