There is no news from Paris except a brief message from an American journalist sayihg -that small groups of people sat on terraces, in. the boulevards, and in cafes as the German columns rolled past the Arc de Trlomphe German troops to-night are marching;, in Paris streets, goose-stepping column by column along the Champs Elysee, says the Daily Mail’s correspondent southward of Paris, who received details of the German occupation from officials who were pemitted to leave after closing the city gates. German machine-guns are posted at the.’ corners of squares. A German general asked the chief of police to continue to function until further orders. The Germans ordered bakers, butchers and provision shops to open normally. Np buses or taxis are operating.
