FOUR-HOUR STOPPAGE
AUCKLAND SHIPPING NAVAL EXERCISES (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The port of Auckland was closed at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon and all shipping was at a standstill until shortly before 9 o’clock. The Auckland naval control authorities stated the reason for the closing of the port was to enable exercises to be carried out. On the completion of exercises the traffic of shipping was resumed.
