RERE DOG TRIALS
EXCELLENT ENTRIES G. H. MORICE’S SUCCESS LONG HEAD PLACINGS The Rere sheep dog trials, held last week on Taumata station, attracted splendid entries, there being as many as 90 in the zig-zag hunt, while the smallest number was 76 in. the long head. The events were run off simultaneously, and the sheep, which were loaned by Tangihanga station, suited the purpose admirably. - - The’judge of the long head was Mr. F. B. Calcott, while Mr. C. Hyland judged the two' huAtaways. In the long head G. H. Morice Was particularly successful, securing both first and third pTacings with Sharp and Spot respectively, Mr. Calcott remarked that the heading work was splendid, and the dogs performed well above the average.
