To provide additional accommodation for soldiers suffering from influenza. the Auckland Teachers’ Training College at Epsom is to be taken over by the Health Department and equipped as an auxiliary hospital. This was announced by the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, at a meeting of the board last night. Mr. Moody said the influenza at the Papakura mobilisation camp was on the increase and drastic steps had been necessary to cope with the conditions. The total number of cases yesterday was 416, of whom 410 were in the Auckland Hospital, the Auckland infirmary and at Ellerslie. It was expected that a further 60 cases would be transferred fronl the camp to-day.
