GISBORNE PILOT R.A.F. ACCIDENT PILOT-OFFICER PETTIT Advice that his son; Pilot-Officer Noel Pettit, Royal Air Force, has been seriously injured in an aircraft accident has been received by Mr. P. A. Pettit, of Gisborne. Pilot-Officer jPettit left in February last to join the Royal Air Force, having joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force prior to the outbreak of the war, and been accepted for active service immediately. He trained at Wanganui and at Wigram, where he secured his wings before proceeding overseas. He is the eldest son of Mr. P. A. Pettit, and is 19 years of age. He formerly studied at the Gisborne High School, and was a prominent Rugby football and cricket player.
