WIN FOR AWANUI

RUGBY IN TIKITIKI (Ilornld Correspondent.) There was again a decided improvement in the standard of play at the Tikitiki Rugby ground on Saturday, when Awanui seniors beat City by 17 points to 15. The score is a fair indication of the run of the play. For City, Anderson was the pick of the forwards, toiling hard in both the tight and the loose play. M. Hyland at full-bacic for City, gave a good display in all departments. In the Awanui pack, D. Tuhoro was .always prominent, while S. Moana was the best of a good set of backs. Tries were scored for City by P. Yates, T. Mullinder, and N, Rickard, all three tries being converted by H. A. Anderson. For Awanui, S. Moana kicked a field goal, and tries were scored by D. Tuhoro (2), and W, Kepa; one try was converted by H. Manuel.

Mr. W. D. McLauchlan was the referee.
