rorgoucn in Hospital One Christchurch recruit for the rhird Echelon found himself in a curious position when, on a susoicion ot having goitre,, he was sent to the Christchurch Public Hospital by the medical board for a couple of days observation. Forgotten', apparently by the board, he was there 'or a week before the joint appeals if himself and his employers chained his release, the nurse in charge raving taken away his clothes, to ire vent his unauthorised departure ?he hospital, to all inquiries, used o reply suavely. "The patient passed i comfortable night, and his condition is satisfactory.”
