ELDERLY MAN KILLED
STEPPED BEFORE CAR (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N, this day. Mr. John Abel was killed last night as a result of being knocked down by a car. • ■ The deceased, who was .single, aged 68, was walking into town. He stepped on to the highway in front of a car, waving his-arm and,.apparently seeking a lift. The driver of the car was Mr. J. E. Nash, of Palmerston North.
