PRISONER OF WAR

PILOT-OFFICER BERNARD (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Advice that her son, Pilot-Officer Robert Bernard, who was recently posted as missing, was a prisoner bf war in Gerhiany, was received yesterday from the Air Ministry by Mrs. G. Tite, of Remttera. The cable message staled that information to this effect had been received by the Air Ministry from the International Red Cross Society. Pilot-Officer Bernard entered the business of his uncle, Mr. W. A. Tanffee, as a student, after leaving the Mount Albert Grammar School, and was chosen for air force training while on a visit to Australia.
