MR; BALL RE-ELECTED Power board chairman For the fifteenth consecutive term Mr. F. R. Ball was to-day re-elected, unopposed, as chairman of the Poverty Bay Electric-Pdwer Board. The re-elfection was proposed by Mr. T. Corsdn and seconded by Mr. B. J. Hoidsworth, twif members who have be'eri associated with Mr. Ball oh the board since its inception in 192 G. Returning thanks, Mr. Ball expressed his pleasure at the indication of continued confidence in His chairmanship. A review of the board’s activities for the past year was submitted by the chairman, this report covering a wide range of topics, including the advent of the war regulations governing the supply of electricity. Growth of load had been vefy marked, not only in this district, said Mr. Ball, and plants throughout New Zealand were working practically at full capacity. The fact that the supply had been interrupted for a total of only 241 minutes during the year, without notice and prior arrangement, was most satisfactory. The chairman touched on other features of the supply of power for the year, find stated that the period had been a very successful one. He had hoped that in the course of the next yfear further reductions of tariff rates would be possible, blit a change in the situation during tile past few clays might occasion a re-casting of expectations. The chairman was complimented upon his report, on the motion of Mr. H. H. De Costa.
