NEW “SECRET” WEAPON

NAZI HIGH-SPEED CRAFT MOTOR-TORPEDO-BOATS (Reed. May 31, 9 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, May 30. The Stockholm paper Aftonbladet says that the Germans intend to use hundreds of high-speed motor-boats to blockade Britain and cripple the navy. Some craft measure 25yds, carry two torpedo tubes, two anti-aircraft guns, and two machine-guns. Rear-Admiral von Luetzow, broadcasting from Berlin, said that Germany would use these boats for operations in the Thames Estuary and on the south-east coast along the Channel, with a view to destroying or at least crippling the navy and completely cutting off London from the sea. Germany had a huge number of boats, which would operate from the Channel ports in co-ordination with all branches of the German forces.
