TOKOMARU SENTIMENT

(Spi'dinl to the Herald.) TOKCMAHU BAY, this day. A mass meeting convened by Mr. D. W. W. Williams, was held in the Gaiety Theatre, Tokomaru Bay, last evening, to discuss the Dominion’s war effort. Over 70 people were in attendance, and Mr. A. N. Wilkins was elected chairman. The following motions were carried: “That this meeting supports the principle of the immediate conscription of man-power, wealth and industry of the country. “That the importation and distribution of seditious literature be immediately banned. "That the 40-hour week and overtime provisions be abolished for the duration of the war.” Votes of thanks were accorded Messrs. D. W. W. Williams and A. G. I-licks for the organisation of the meeting, and also the chairman.
