DRILL DOWN 3100 FT.

WAIKOKOPU LOCATION PETROLEUM CO.’S REPORT The weekly bulletin issued by the New Zealand Petroleum Company. Limited, indicates that further pro gress has been, made with the bore at Waikokopu, on the Morere dome. The report is as under: — “Morere No. 1 Well. —Drilling resumed last Saturday. The present depth is 3100 ft., and the rock formation is unchanged. “Midhurst, Taranaki.—Rigging-up at this location is now 85 per cent complete ” The last previous bulletin issued by the company, on May 23, stated that the 13j>in. casing at the Waikokopu site had been cemented at 2998 ft., and that drilling was suspended for a few days to permit the cement to settle. Rigging-up operations at Midhurst were reported to be 75 per cent complete. !
