SATURDAY’S TOURNEY BLOMFIELD—CORBETT • Since the announcement was made a week ago that the Gisborne Wrestling Association would open its sea-on on the night of the A. and P. Society’s rodeo —on Saturday next —amateurs at the mat game have- been busy getting into trim with a view to securing contests on the preliminary bill. As a result, the,match committee has? been able to malic a good selection of amateurs to open a programme on which the main attraction will bo the professional bout between “Lofty” Blomfield and Joe Corbett. Four contests will be staged before the interval on Saturday night, as under: J. Steele v. R. Hunt: K. Per? v. Texas Thompson J A. Campbell v. K. Khvha, To Karaka; A. Read v. K. Double. Auckland. The emergency bout will be between It. Third and f. Bell. The opponent fennel for Reed is an Aucklander with a good record of success in the north and plenty of size He is expected to draw out the local amateur champion and make a firstclass bout.
