TUBERCULOSIS SURVEY

ADELAIDE WOMEN ADELAIDE, May 8. Perturbed by the results of a recent tuberculosis survey among young Adelaide women, a group of Adelaide doctors has prepared plans for a mass survey 'n South Australia. The survey showed that of 8056 voung women tested 35 per cent were found to return a positive reaction to the Mantoux test. Doctors point out that the research showed many unsuspected cases of pulmonary tuberculosis to exist among young women living norma! busy lives. By detecting cases at an earlv stage it is possible not only lo restore the girls to health but prevent them reaching an infectious stage.
