WAIKOHU CLUB KNOCK-OUT TOURNEY (Herald Correspondent.) The Waikohu Badminton Club met on Monday evening, when a knock-out tournament proved very interesting. The final match between J. Holdsworth and Miss J. Marshall and Mrs. H. O’Connell and Miss Josephine Scott produced even scoring, and resulted in a win for the latter couple, 21-19. Results were as follows: First Round.—J. Holdsworth and Miss J. Marshall d. P. Reynolds and Miss J. Cotterill, 21-13: Mrs. 11. O'Connell and Miss Josephine Scott d. M. Kyne and Miss B. Dowding, 21-12; E. Wilson and Mrs. Wilson lost to J. Dowding and Miss V. Seamons, 19-21; T. Maclean and Miss C. Manuel lost to A. Manuel and Mrs. E. Cranswick. 18-21. Second Round. —Mrs. 11. O’Connell and Miss Josephine Scott d. A. Manuel and Mrs. E. Cranswick, 21 -1G: J. Cunningham and Mrs. E. Wilson lost to J. Holdsworth and Miss J. Marshall, 14-21; J. Dowding and Miss V. Seamons lost to J. Holdsworth and Miss J. Marshall, 18-21. Final. —Mrs. 11. O’Connell and Miss Josephine Scott d. J. Holdsworth and Miss J. Marshall, 21-19. At the close of the tournament, by the courtesy of Mr. E. K. Wilson, players enjoyed the opportunity to watch the screening of a film showing an exhibition game of badminton by two professionals.
