Those present at last night's meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council were: The Mayor, Mr. D. W.'Coleman, M.P., Messrs. H. H. De Costa, F. Toler - ton, J. H. Hall, G. D. Muirhead, E. Harris, R. Morse, li. E. Maude, and Dr. A. L. Singer. Tree Nursery The Gisborne Borough Council last night decided to give the supervising gardener, Mr. T. R. Andrewq permission to utilise the portion of the Rutenc Road Reserve fronting Iranui road as a tree nursery until the land was required for other purposes and that a strip 10ft wide along Iranui road frontage be planted in ornamental trees provided the residents interested provided the trees. Municipal Bus Service During the fortnight ended May 19, the municipal buses earned an average of 13.63 d per mile, compared with 13.28 d during the corresponding period last year. These figures were shown in the report submitted by the bus manager, Mr. K. G. Ball, to the Gisborne Borough Council last night, when it was stated that 6144 miles were run and 27,138 passengers carried, while a year ago 0061 miles were run and 28,552 passengers carried.
