GOLF IN JAPAN

Japan is not allowing the war in China to interfere with golf. All the big tournaments are being held with the leading professionals prominent. A local Bobby Jones, in the person of Torchy Toda, won the four major championships last year. In the open he had a five-stroke load with 237 over Chin, the runner-up. These two visited America in 1936 and tied with Bobby Jones and Charlie Yates in an 18-hole round at East Lake. Toda greatly impressed the Americans.
