St. John and Red Cross Appeal

The Gisborne Harbour Board to-day donated £SO to the appeal issued by the Joint Council of the Order ol' St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society for funds for the sick and wounded soldiers. Farmers’ Union Arrangements have been made by the Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union to hold the annual meeting in the Masonic Hotel at 1.30 p.m. next Saturday, to be preceded by a luncheon at 12.30 p.m. A large attendance of the provincial executive members and the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union is expected, and an invitation is extended to all farmers to be present. When in Napier be sure to call at h-,n “T-Tnme of Good Eats”—that’s the "Trocadero” —Hastings Street.*
