"Extravagant Demands”
"I want to say that I and members lit the Mastcrton County Council are staggered and alarmed at the extravagant demands made by the New Zealand Road Transport and Motor and Horse Drivers’ Union in its application of May 7, 1940, for a new award against New Zealand local bodies.” said the Mastcrton County Council chairman, Mr. Reg. Lee, at the latest committee meeting. “This comes at a ■ i"i C when all our resources should be the country's war effort, fvely the Government has some conhoi in matters of this kind.”
