PATRIOTIC EFFORT
DOMINION FUND TOTAL NEARLY, £102,000 (Special to tho Herald.) WELLINGTON, this day. The National Patriotic Fund Board reports that donations to the fund as a result of the appeal made by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, have reached £101,912 Us 7d. Included in the latest list is £IOO from Messrs. Salmond and Sprdggorf, Limited. The total expenditure, to date is £57,620 2s lid. The donation of £3OOO from the New Zealand Woolbrokers’ Association, representing stock and station agents throughout the Dominion, is lo be distributed among the 11 provincial funds, the Gisborne donations to go to the East Coast fund.
FUND OVER £53,000 DOMINION APPEAL SICK AND WOUNDED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Up to last night, the sick, wounded and distress fund .appeal totalled more than £53,000. District contributions are: Auckland £12,100, Wellington £BO6O, Canterbury £14,800, Dunedin £5500, Gisborne £SOO, Napier £SOOO, Blenheim" £350, Palmerston North £4OOO, Wanganui £I4OO. Odd amounts bring the total to oyer £53,000,
