Re-licensing of Motor Vehicles

The re-licensing of motor vehicles in Gisborne is being carried out satisfactorily, and the number of new registrations to date is slightly in excess of that for the same period last year. When the office closed last evening 1177 vehicles had been relicensed, compared with 1125 on May 22, 1939. However, there are still 3000 more registrations to be carried out if all cars and other vehicles are to be used on the roads after the end of the month, and motorists will ease the position for themselves and the officials at the Chief Post Office if they make their applications as early as possible. There were 163 registrations made yesterday, but it is thought that this number would be passed easily to-day.
