JAPAN NOT INVOLVED VIEW OF EAST INDIES (Reed. May 11, 10.30 a.m.) TOKIO, May 10. The Japanese Foreign Office spokesman, Mr. Suma, says that Germany’s invasion of the Netherlands brought no concern to Japan over the Netherlands East Indies. Japan was following a policy of strict non-involvement. This was no evidence to indicate that the European move would affect the East Indies and no indication that Britain was planning “protective custody.”
